Bio

Brazilian native Bob Burnquist was surrounded by soccer as a child. Although he enjoyed playing, asthma kept him from competing at a level he was satisfied with. After watching older neighborhood kids roll around on skateboards, Bob picked one up and never looked back. After winning a few contests in the mid-90s Bob realized he could skate for a living. Since the late 90s, bob has become one of the most recognized skaters in the world.

Some of Bob’s contest achievements include first place performances at Summer X Games, Dew Action Sports Tour Stops, LG, Rio Skate Jam, and too many more to mention. However, to cite only Bob’s skateboard achievements would merely scratch the surface of the impact he’s had on the world. Some of Bob’s other areas of genius are innovative ramp-designing, surfing, snowboarding, piloting airplanes, skydiving, music, and organic farming.

This year, Bob became the first person to ever skate the corkscrew, a loop with sadistic twist, which he invented and built. Make sure to check out Bob’s unforgettable part in Oakley’s new team skate video “Our Life” (www.oakley.com/ourlife), where Bob showcases the true definition of achievement, while still pushing himself and his sport.
