Bio
To anybody who’s watched television recently, Ryan Sheckler needs no introduction. Probably the most recognizable skateboarder since Tony Hawk, Ryan has been setting a new benchmark in skateboarding both on the streets and in contests. It seems at times Ryan can do whatever he wants on a skateboard. From contests to video parts, he leaves everyone within eye shot with their jaw on the floor. This could be best witnessed during his championship-winning runs at the Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour or in his latest part in Oakley’s “Our Life” video.
Growing up and still residing in San Clemente, CA, Ryan really loves coming back to his hometown. It is not uncommon to spot him at any of Orange County’s skateparks, skating with everyone else. Ryan’s fame has brought him much mainstream press with appearances in commercials for Gogurt, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, the Sony Vaio video camera as well as two movies, Grind and MVP2. In addition, Ryan is featured in the “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” video game. There are even rumors abuzz regarding his own show on MTV.
At the tender age of 16, Ryan has really only begun his life as a skateboarder, but with back-to-back Overall Championship Cups on the Dew Tour (2005 & 2006), as well as the overall Champion on the World Cup Skateboarding, Ryan is proving that setting history before you’re an adult can be child’s play. Ryan’s skating is strong, stylish and consistent, as he fearlessly launches his small frame onto the biggest obstacles he can find.
