Bio

Rune Glifberg has been skateboarding for over twenty years. He first stepped foot on a skateboard back in 1986 at the age of 11 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It all started when a friend came back from the United States with a skateboard and Rune has since never looked back. With twenty years of skateboarding under his belt, Rune has grown into one of the most stylish and well respected pool and transition skaters in the world. Rune’s ability to continually push the limits of style and speed with his impressive bag of tricks and fearless Viking style have made him a living icon among transition skaters.

Rune moved to the US in 1996 at the advice of his sponsors, which allowed him to compete more and gain more exposure. Since 2000 Rune has owned the podium at most major vert skate contests, including Vans World Championships, NBC Gravity Games, Vans Triple Crown, and X Games. Rune has won them all, particularly in 2001 when he clinched an overall #1 place.

Rune is an extremely well liked and respected individual for his style and humility within skateboarding. A humble and softly spoken person off the skate scene, Rune has gained a huge following of fans from the US and abroad. Make sure to see him ooze style in "Our Life" (www.oakley.com/ourlife). Take our word, you will not be disappointed.
