The clarity of High Definition Optics® was just our starting point. We created a permanent Hydrophobic™ lens coating to repel water, skin oils and debris, so the best vision on earth stays crystal clear. When the sun fades or flares on athletes like freeride legend Wade Simmons, the interchangeable lens design lets them adapt. Two sizes of nose pads help them achieve a secure fit that optimizes comfort.

Hydrophobic™
0:30 Water Test (5 MB)Oakley Hydrophobic™ is a permanent lens coating that prevents water from leaving streaks and sheens that can compromise vision. Whether it’s rain, sweat or splashing runoff, H2O can’t get a foothold. And that’s just half the story.
Skin oils, fingerprints and lotions are easily wiped away without leaving a residue, eliminating the haze that makes ordinary lenses a nightmare to keep clean. We even made the coating anti-static so it won’t attract dust and dirt like ordinary lenses.
High Definition Optics® (HDO®)
High Definition Optics® (HDO®) takes advantage of patented innovations like XYZ Optics® for unbeatable clarity at all angles of vision, even at the sides of lens contours that open peripheral view and optimize protection against sun, wind and side impact. HDO® lenses surpass all ANSI Z87.1 standards for clarity, refraction and prism.

Lens Shape Options
Two different lens shapes let you choose the amount of lens coverage, and the semi-rimless design ensures there’s no frame rim to block downward view.
Performance Lens Colors
Our high-contrast colors optimize depth perception, and our neutral transmission colors offer truer color perception. Choose Iridium® lens coatings to reduce glare and get the best vision in bright sun. For the ultimate in glare-cutting performance, get lenses with Oakley polarization. We make them with a process that eliminates the haze and distortion found in ordinary polarized lenses.
The Perfect Fit
We designed Flak Jacket® with interchangeable nose pads, so you can pick the size that gives you a comfortable and precise fit. Two sizes come with every frame. You also get the best frame technologies in sports.
Stays in Place
To make sure the frame stays secure during sport competition, the nose pads and stem sleeves are made of Oakley Unobtainium®. It’s a proprietary synthetic that actually increases grip with perspiration.
Comfort
We engineered Flak Jacket® to be unbelievably lightweight. Unlike ordinary frames that hook the ears, Flak Jacket® offers the comfort of a Three-Point Fit with balanced pressure points.
